K-haus 205 is inspired by the work of graphic designer and typographer, Herbert Bayer, during his time at the Bauhaus around 100 years ago — work that kick-started graphic design as we know it, to this day. It owes something to the simple geometry of Bayer’s hand-drawn, ‘universal typeface’, updated and expanded to deliver a clean, balanced, geometric sans for today. Also available as K-haus 105, featuring a few different characters here and there, chiefly in the lower case set. Both variations include an extended character set, featuring accented characters for Central European languages.

TT Frantz is an experimental variable font, distinguished by its slimness and lightness. The variation in the font affects the change in the height of the mean line - by moving the axis adjustment slider you can easily raise or lower the mean line of the font. In TT Frantz, you can find small references to the art deco aesthetics, which are expressed in significantly lowered or, conversely, heightened waist of the letters. In addition, depending on the position of the axis adjustment slider, the closedness of the aperture changes for some letters. In order to preserve the main feature of the font—the change in the height of the main line—we made lowercase characters as tall as uppercase ones, but at the same time we kept small kerns. An interesting fact is that in Cyrillic letters з с а е, the variability of the aperture follows a different scenario in comparison with their Latin sisters. When working on TT Frantz, we tried to make it so that when changing the variability, the width of the characters would not change, and the font would remain monospaced. And in order to avoid holes in the set, we made contextual alternates and several ligatures. Frantz consists of 470 glyphs, and in addition to broad language support (Latin and Cyrillic) it can offer standard and old-style figures, including their tubular versions, as well as ligatures. Important clarification regarding variable fonts. At the moment, not all graphic editors, programs and browsers support variable fonts. You can check the status of support for the variability of your software here: v-fonts.com/support/ But do not despair—even if you do not have access to the necessary software, you still have the opportunity to use TT Frantz in your projects. Especially for you, we have prepared three separate non-variable styles (Frantz A, Frantz B, Frantz C), each of which is responsible for a certain location of the mean line of the font and where this line is already fixed in a certain position (high, medium and low).

Branding Super Family is an extension of the Branding project, including new variables that cater to a wide array of requirements, still maintaining its essence. It is a super family for modern needs! Additional to its particular design, different widths are included: now Branding Ultra Condensed is a reality. The project also considers a variety of alternate characters, making Branding Super Family a great tool for graphic designers and art directors. It is ideal for use in logotypes, isotypes, short texts, and others. Branding Super Family is a Sans Serif spurless font with medium-large x-height, straight curves and convex terminals. It has 7 weights and 4 widths that vary from thin to black, and from ultra condensed to medium, each with their matching italics. It also includes a set of 544 characters supporting 128 languages. OpenType characteristics include European accents, old style numbers and 4 sets of alternates.

Our Ballinger family continues to grow with the addition of 16 new narrow styles. Their shared DNA is visible in the generous counters and x-height, forthright forms, and air of cheery efficiency. And like their wider relatives, they have their roots in 19th Century jobbing faces. While the eight Condensed styles are designed for impact, we took care to balance them for continuous reading, making them ideal for applications where space is at a premium. In contrast, the radically smooshed X-Condensed weights are ideal for movie credits, legal disclaimers, and lists of side effects. Inside my head, there are a number of forms of Sans Serif typefaces, and I cannot put aside any single one of them. Even if they were in the way of the reading process, I still think they form splendid letters. For me, when I hear for example "Sans Serif", then immediately Helvetica comes to my mind, even though I don't think that it is the best Sans Serif out there. Of course it is a great typeface, but I believe that one should not be fixated on the association of Sans Serif = Helvetica. It is just that Sans Serif goes hand in hand with Helvetica after all, and I don't think it is exaggerated to say that everyone throughout the world would agree. In my head there is no conflict about this either, and I readily agree with this thinking. However, just because of that I don't necessarily spend time studying Helvetica in detail and analyzing its subtleties in order to progress with a design. I am just clear about the fact that the mental picture of a typeface which I deem important when working on a design is a grotesque typeface like Akzidenz Grotesk. Of course I don't intend to recut it, but to reverse the way of thinking even further, and have often designed with the vague image of, for example, an old unrefined typeface in mind.
